What’s your favourite childhood memory of Birmingham? Getting the 37 bus into the city, exploring the rag market, Oasis, and Snobs.
When was your breakthrough moment? I think I might still be waiting for it.
How did you get into what you’re doing today? Someone I respected asked me to join them starting a company.
What’s the greatest memory from your career? People I hired many years ago developing into great leaders and in turn, developing others.
Favourite thing to do in Birmingham? 7am hot flow yoga class at Yogahaven, followed by picking up a cappuccino in Saint Kitchen, and drinking it sitting on a bench in the churchyard watching everyone going to work.
What makes Birmingham stand out to you? Friendliness and boldness.
What are your thoughts on the future of Birmingham? Generally optimistic.
If you could change one thing about Birmingham, what would it be? The City Council
Who’s the most famous person you think is from Birmingham? Jeff Lynne from ELO. He might not be the most famous but he’s my favourite
Who are your heroes? Someone you look up to? Theresa May, Sheryl Sandberg, Aung San Suu Kyi
If you had a dinner party, which 3 people would you invite? Anthony Bourdain, Leo Tolstoy and Angela Merkel.
What are your plans for the future? To get out of my comfort zone every day. To be grateful for every opportunity to learn something new. To live in the moment.
